The best beer festival in the United States returns to the shores of Lake Monona on August, 9th! The Great Taste of the Midwest® is in it’s 38th year and better than ever. We’re proud to be pouring our beer here again and want to make sure anyone who has a ticket to the fest can make it safely to and from Olin Park. We’ll have a shuttle bus running from Full Mile Beer Co. from 11:30AM until approximately 7PM during the fest. No reservations, line forms outside for the bus.
We will also be serving to-go breakfast burritos for those that want to grab something to eat while in line for the bus.
We’re pretty darn pumped to have Madison-based Don’t Spook the Horse in downtown Sunny P on stage here for the first time! Their distinctive brand of Americana grows from twisting ancient folk songs and newer deep-cut covers and blending them with carefully crafted originals, all with plenty of space for improvisation. Creative stuff from uber talented musicians! Don’t Spook the Horse – words to live by… and the name of their band. 6PM start time and free admission as always!
Sun Prairie’s own homegrown bluegrass masters are back in the house! Soggy Prairie will be here at FMBC&K on a Saturday! We’ve pumped the brakes on the Third Thursday shows here at FMBC&K, but we still love us some Soggy! Bluegrass and Craft Beer, it’s a match made in heaven. As always it’s free admission. On a good day he writes and plays pop rock in the vein of Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello, Aimee Mann, and the Gin Blossoms. Guitar and voice are his main instruments, but if you’re not nice he’ll go get out his bagpipes!
Kat and the Hurricane is an all-queer and trans synth rock/indie-pop band from Madison, WI. The band has stirred up a storm across the Midwest since 2017 thanks to their energetic live shows, strong sense of community, and genre-defying songwriting. The trio has appeared at several regional and national festivals, completed 3 regional and national tours, and received the coveted Artist of The Year award from their local Madison Area Music Association. Jazz is back at FMBC&K and on a Wednesday evening! 72 Carrier Pigeons is a jazz group consisting of past Sun Prairie East High School jazz band graduates and they’re back to play the stage here! Great local music by up and coming musicians!
Funk / Rock / Blues juggernauts The Blue Olives come to FMBC&K and we’re super lucky to have them! Regular artists at House of Blues- Chicago, They have performed over 3500 shows nationally. Described as "tight enough to be professional. yet loose enough to be really fun..." they feature a hornline, killer vocal harmonies, searing guitar and funky rhythm section. Known as one of the fiercest jam bands around with a huge repertoire of covers done with their own flair!
Feestet (pronounced “Feest-tet”) is a Madison-based, post-pandemic jazz ensemble fronted by vocalist Helen Feest. Cutting their teeth on standards from the Great American Songbook, Feestet formed from a weekly jazz jam in 2021. Since then, they've performed at several notable local venues and events: Jazz at Five, North Street Cabaret, Atwood Fest, The Sessions at McPike Park, and the Madison Jazz Festival.
Pupy Costello, Wisconsin's hardest working, honky tonking classic country and western swing crooner, has resurfaced with a hot new band of ace players ripping off classic juke joint country and western swing tunes. If you like your honky tonk fully basted, then this is the band for you. Southern country regional hits from the 50s, 1920s hokum blues, western swing chestnuts, and -most of all- hard core honky tonk drinking songs, they pick the best of the best from a deep treasure trove of American music. What first began as a cocktail lounge jazz group (originally called The Oxfords then Nathan Gerlach & Friends) has evolved into a finely tuned band that strives to play wide array of music for the enjoyment of all who participate and listen. With tight harmonies, and creative arrangements of covers, the band enjoys opening up songs for improvised solos or taking Top 40 hits and making instrumental arrangements from them.
With band members hailing from the Upper Midwest, bringing state, regional touring experience, The Trophy Husbands are fast becoming a staple in the diverse Madison music scene. Current members include: Patrick Kenney on keys/vocals, Barry Dobbs on guitar/vocals, Scott Staedter on drums/vocals, Ed Wegert on guitar, Bob Clark on bass/vocals and Nathan Gerlach on saxophone/vocals.

D.B. & the Hot 5 is a smaller, combo-style group made up of members of the DB Orchestra, a cornerstone of the Madison jazz scene. This group, with an exciting blend of refreshing takes on jazz standards, tasteful soul favorites, and bluesy reimaginings of pop hits, features something for everyone, including one of the only jazz accordion players in the area!
The Periodicals are a British/American Wisconsin-based nine-piece band featuring guitars, horns, violin, and sensational vocals that have been earning rave reviews for their tight live sets and unique blend of northern soul and alternative rock. Whether its on the festival stage or in the intimacy of a downtown bar, the Periodicals rock the house - blowing the dust off and thumbing through a rich catalog of original material with a classic feel, along with their take on some iconic cuts of northern soul. Due to the stage size here at FMBC&K and we’ll have a slightly scaled back, acoustic version of the band…sure to be just as awesome!

Kristina is a Nurse Practitioner for Ranbow Community Care, serving patients in Jefferson and Beaver Dam. She was recently diagnosed with an incurable form of esophageal cancer.
Besides being a Nurse Practitioner, Kristina is also a wife and the mother of two young boys (ages 1 and 2). There is no cure for her cancer, but she is currently receiving symptomatic treatment, hoping to have as much time with her family as possible.
She can no longer work and is accumulating medical bills and other expenses. She faces an uncertain future and the financial strain of lost wages and mounting bills. Through this concert series, we are hoping to collect donations and provide some financial support to Kristina and her family.
All proceeds will be donated directly to Kristina’s family.
FMBC&K turns six! We threw open our doors to the public on December 18, 2018. Well, six years (and a couple of days) later we’re still here! So let’s party! Per usual we’ll be releasing our big, bourbon (and rye) barrel aged Russian Imperial Stout COLLUSION 2024 and it’s associated variants. These beers will be pouring when we open at 10AM on Saturday, December 21st. We’ll likely have some other returning barrel aged goodies for you too!
And we gotta have some live music too! Honky Tonk as a matter of fact. Reeeallly good Honky Tonk! Pupy Costello and the New Hiram Kings return for our birthday party and we couldn’t be more pumped to see them! 7 - 10PM, free admission. If you haven’t seen this crew you really need to!
